As you are probably aware, there has been a dramatic rise in COVID-19 cases due to the Delta variant of the virus. Since March of 2020, we have continued to track the daily new cases per 100,000 in our county from globalepidemics.org. Once the vaccine was readily available to anyone 12 years old and older, and with numbers on the decline, we moved to a mask optional stance throughout our facility on July 4, 2021, as approved by our Leadership Team.

Due to the fact that our geography is significantly back in the RED zone (>25 daily new cases per 100,000), we will again provide weekly updates through E-News, here on our website and through occasional emails, if necessary. In addition to globalepidemics.org, our sources of information include the CDC, the United Methodist Church North GA Conference, other large churches in our area and vaccination rates/participation. With all the variables, any decisions on guidelines are not easy, but the Lead Staff, the Leadership Team and the Board of Trustees continue to have conversation about the current state and how to offer the safest space to the most amount of people on our campus.

Thanks to all of you who recently responded to our church-wide survey. Over 700 responses have been returned. In light of the continued rise of daily new COVID cases, effective Sunday, Sept. 5, the church leadership recommends that masks be worn by everyone inside the church. Thank you for helping to create the safest possible environment for as many people as possible.
