Director of Operations

Alpharetta Methodist Church seeks a Director of Operations to join our team of 40+ staff to work collaboratively to lead and resource teams (both paid and volunteer) to support ministry. The Director will be responsible for day-to-day church operations including maintenance, cleanliness and care, project and vendor management, security and safety, and events planning. The Director reports to the Executive Pastor and supervises multiple staff.

The ideal candidate will have: 

  • A passion for reaching people for Christ
  • Working knowledge of facility maintenance, project and vendor management, contract negotiations, and strategic planning
  • A desire to work with staff and volunteers to continually improve operations
  • Excellent relational and organizations skills–the ability to work with a wide-variety of people is essential
  • Strong analytical, communications (both written and verbal), and project management skills
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field. Experience working in a church or non-profit ministry is preferred
  • 3-5 years’ experience in staff, program and facilities management with a proven track record of excellence

Preschool Teachers

Alpharetta Methodist Preschool is seeking part-time teachers (8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.):

  • Lead teachers 2, 4 and 5 days a week
  • Assistant teacher 4 and 5 days a week
  • Co-teachers 2 days a week.

General Description of Job:
  • Each classroom has 2 teachers: a lead teacher and an assistant (3 yrs.-K) or co-teachers (18-36 mos.).
  • Responsible for the care of children in a loving, Christ centered, learning environment. Each teacher is challenged to show Christ’s love to the young child through words and actions.
  • Respect confidentiality of the Preschool staff and the Preschool children and their families.
  • Maintain a smooth running, organized classroom.
  • Communicate effectively with parents each day.
  • Each teacher is required to keep a 1st aid, CPR and AED certificate active.
  • Complete 10 hours of Continuing Education.
Examples of Duties/Responsibilities:

This position requires excellent communication skills, organization skills and a love for children. The qualified candidate should possess a solid commitment to Jesus Christ.

Planning and maintaining age-appropriate lesson plans for the young child, including but not limited to, colors, shapes, numbers, the alphabet, seasonal and Christian crafts, following a curriculum.

Run the class in an orderly manner according to the daily schedule.

Attend monthly staff meetings or additional meetings/trainings as deemed necessary.

Abide by all policies and procedures outlined in the Preschool Staff Handbook.
