Rev. Terri Henkel

Rev. Terri Henkel was appointed to Alpharetta Methodist as an associate pastor in June 2016.

A Southern California native, she and her husband Gary were married while he was active duty in the United States Navy. She and her family have lived in different parts of the country and were stationed in Georgia for a time. When Gary retired from the Navy, the couple chose to return to Georgia and plant their roots. They have 4 grown children.

Terri came to accept Christ in her mid-20s in the Episcopal Church and says that, “from that moment on, my life has been forever changed. My first experience with serving in the church was Children’s Ministry and eventually with the youth. Over the years I enjoyed teaching Sunday School, leading Bible studies, planning special events and women’s ministries.”

While she was serving as Youth Minister at Hiram United Methodist, in Paulding County, Georgia, she answered God’s calling to become a pastor. Her first appointment in the United Methodist Church was in 2003. She has studied at Shorter University and graduated from Asbury Theological Seminary.

In her spare time, Terri enjoys reading, cooking and the beach.
