Terri’s Book Club
Every month members of Alpharetta Methodist and the community are invited read a book to help us grow in our walk with Christ. Some of the books are written by contemporary authors and others are by saints who have long since passed.
Rev. Terri Henkel recommends a variety of books and is always interested in your suggestions. If you have a favorite, please feel free to send her the title and author.
At the end of each month, there’s an opportunity to join together on a Zoom chat to discuss that month’s book. Participants share what they found helpful and how how faith is growing.
No registration is required to read each month’s book recommendation, but if you’d like to participate in the Zoom chats, sign-up is necessary. When you register, you will receive periodic emails highlighting what the books the group is reading.
Read all the books or read just one! It’s totally up to you, so join in as you are able. And invite others, whether they are a part of our church or community or in another church or another community. We are the body of Christ, regardless of where we live and worship.
March’s Reading
Throughout the pages of history, God chasers such as Moses, David, Paul, Job, A.W. Tozer, Leonard Ravenhill, and countless others shared one common bond – an insatiable hunger to know their Lord. What are God chasers? People whose passion for God’s presence urges them to chase the impossible in hopes that the uncatchable might catch them! “God Chasers: My Soul Follows Hard After Thee,” by Tommy Tenney – a self-proclaimed God chaser – is Rev. Terri Henkel’s Book Club selection for March.
Join Tenney in his search for God. Follow him as he ignores the maze of religious tradition and finds himself, not chasing God, but to his utter amazement, caught by the one he had chased.
