National Day
of Prayer
Virtual Event

Thursday, May 6
6:30 p.m. via Zoom

In 1775, the Continental Congress asked the original colonies to pray for wisdom as a new nation was being formed. This wasn’t the last time there was a national call to pray, but it was the first time. In 1952, President Truman signed a joint resolution from Congress designating an annual day each year as a day of prayer. That day is traditionally the first Thursday in May.

The Alpharetta Methodist Prayer Ministry Team will host a time of prayer, led by Senior Pastor Rev. David Walters, on the National Day of Prayer, May 6. As one people, we will join our prayers with those being prayed across the nation  together seeking the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the Church and our land. Please join us for this special time of reflection and prayer.

Lord, pour out your Love, Life and Liberty.

With the 2021 National Day of Prayer theme, we pray and proclaim the promise of God found in our theme verse, 2 Corinthians 3:17, “Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.”
